CONCERT.

Masterton Wesleyan Church.

The Masterton Temperance Hall was crowded last evening, when a grand sacred and secular concert was given by tho Wesleyan ohoir, assisted by friends, in aid of the choir funds. Each item- on the programme was well rendered, the accompaniments being tastefully played by Miss Williams, while Mr J. J. Boagey made a capable conductor. We regret that pressure on our space prevents our giving a detailed notice to each performer, The items were as follows :—Part 1, Sacred:—Overture, "March of the Priests," orchestra; m, "The Lost Chord," Mr J. I Juoagey; anthem, "Daughter of Zion," Msr Muller and Miss Prentice; song, " The Heavenly Rest," Miss Perry; duet (encored)" David and Goliath," Messrs J, J, Boagey and 8. Ralph; anthem, "The Lord is my Shepherd," by the choir. Part 2, secular : Overture," Secret Love," orchestra; song, "The Captive Greek Slave," Mrs Muller; Glee, "Where art Thou," Choir; quartette, "Row, Boatman Row," Misses Perry and Prentice, and Messrs Boagey and Ralph;song, "La Seranata," Mrs Mullor; duet, "The Sailor Sighs," Miss Ferry and Mr Boagey; song, (humorous)" The old Turnkey," Mr B.H.Ralph. The glee, "Here in Cool Grot," by the choir, brought a pleasant evening's entertainment to a dose, the result of which should bo a substantial gain to tho choir fund
