Wairarapa Rugby Union.
A general meeting of delegates of the Wairarapa Rusjliy Union .was held at the Marquis of Normanby Hotel, Carterton, on Wednesday evening. Presentr-Mrssrs Gindora (in the ohair), lggu'den, Buttiment, D'Aroy, Malcolm, Gray, Tyl'jr, Miiwood, Tate, Hnigli, itea.-d, Dud', Humphries, Downard and Sullivan.
The following officers were elected for the ensuing year;—Patron, W. 0, Buchanan Ksq.; President, Geo, Heeiham Esq, ; Vice-Pr- sidenis, alt-nm* E. M. 0. Wliaiman, Cave, Powntll, and A, Booth; Management Committee—Messrs D'Aroy, Igguldan, Tate, Beard, Duff and Sullivan; Matoh Committee—Messta Cinders, D'Arey, and W. J. McKen* zie. It was arranged that a matoh be played against a Wellington junior representative team about the middle io August,
The following were elected a Junior Match Committee—Messrs Butement, Duff, and Sullivan,
Mr Duff gave notice of motion that he intended to bring before the Union at the next general meeting that in future two iounds be played for the Junior Cup instead of one as at piesent.
It was resolved that a North and South Wairarapa representative match be played at Greytown on July 80th for the purpose of raising funds for the Union,
The Secretary was instructed to write to the Secretary of the Whareama Football Olab re drawing for Junior Cup, and inform him that on account of the Club's failing to fulfil engagements last season the Union thought that probably this season they did not intend to join, and that any of the affiliated clubs would only be too happy to give them a game if they came down, A protest was received from the Red Star Football Club against the Masterton second fifteen. Mr A. E, D'Arey gave a lengthy explanation regarding the picking of th 9 first fifteen, and after considerable argument it was proposed by Mr Downsrd that Mr D'Arcy's explanation be accepted, Mr Iggulden proposed as an amendment, seconded by Mr Butement, that Mr D'Arcy's explanation be not accepted. The amendment was put and lost on the show of hands and the original motion was put and carried.
The Gladstone Football Club claimed the matoh against the Carterton Pirates on the ground that the latter Club did not go to Gladstone as drawn in the Cup fixtures. It was resolved that the application be not entertained and the match be played. The secretary was instructed to write to the Taranaki Rugby Union and try and arrange a return representative matoh with that Union on Saturday, July 23rd, offering them fifty /por ceut, of the nett gate takings. Mr W. Iggulden proposed that a new rnetnb>r of a Club be compelled to sign an application to be admitted to such dull in the presence of a reliable witness and that he be compelled to play for thatolub throughout the season excepting in case of leaving town, when with the consent of the Management Committee he may play for the club in such town as he may be. The motion was seconded by Mr DlArcy and carried. The meeting then adjourned,
