A Drunken ML A. Brandishes a Revolver, [FBOSI A LATK AUSTRALIAN EXCHANGE.], On the afternoon of Saturday, June 14th, a serious shooting accident Imppened in a railway train travelling from Sydney to Kogarah. It would seem that the Rev D.ivid Laseron, of St Matthias's, Paddington, was a passenger by the train to Kogarah, and was sitting near a man who was intoxicated. The latter was turning a loaded revolver about in his band, when it suddenly exploded, and the contents of the cartridge lodged in Mr Laseron's left shoulder. He was conveyed to Sydney as soon as possible and taken to the Prince Alfred Hospital. On admission it was found that the bullet had entered the left shoulder, and'penetrated deeply into the muscles. He was attended to by Dr Diok, and admitted for further treatment. The man declined to give his name, but proved to be Mr Thomas Walker, one of the members for Northumberland, Later enquiries elicited that when the train reached Eveleigb, Walker was in a very drunken state. After he had diss oharged the revolver he became very violent, and when ordered out of the carriage positively declined to go, and commenced brandishing the weapon, with threatß to shoot anybody who went near him. Seeing this, Potr ter Joseph seized hold of Mr Walker, dragged him from the car, : and succeeded in wrenching the revolver 1 from him. The station authorities took charge of Mr Walker, and detained him at the station until Sergeant Vane arrived and took him to the Redfern Police Station, on a charge of being drunk on the railway premises. Subsequently a further charge of maliciously wounding Mr Laseron was preferred against him, An examination of the seat on which Mr Laseron was sitting showed that the bullet had passed through the back of the oushion and entered the rev gentleman's baok,
