MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Mauriceville Road Board was held on Saturday, the 25th inst. Present - Messrs 0. Foraberg (Chairman), P. Andersen, J. Bannister, J. F, Heckler, andH, W. Jackson. The minutes.of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and correspondence outward, CORREsroNDKNCK, From the Treasury, stating that the additional 10 per cent, on Loan for Mauriceville West Bond would be paid over to tho Board in a few days,

From Commissioner' of Crown Lands, notifying the Board that a new Receiver of Land Revenue had been appointed.

From W. G. Beard, solicitor, enclosing bill for legs! expenses in connection with the purchase of land for part of Mt. Munro Road West. From Agricultural Department re laying poison for the. small birds nuisance. •

From Messrs Rose and Messenger, R. Diokson and J. W. Jackson, requesting the Board to clear track so as to give them access to their several properties. Mr Heckler handed in an offer from Mr J. Yoongson to/form road giving access to MrKummer's ssotion »nd hie own, and also to improve that portion of the road already made, for the sum cf £ll.—The Board considered itadvisable that Mr Youngson gel the consent of the adjoining owner and a plan of the road be got, and Mr Heckler was authorised to get this done.

GENERAL, The Chairman reported that he had seen Mr Beard with reference to the land taken from Mrs Boigard for road, but was unable to ascertain, the exact area as the papers had not yet been returned from the Land Transfer Office.

It was decided that the office, furniture, etc., belonging to the Board should be insured. "

It was also deoided to call'for tenders for clearing and formation on Whiting's road as soon as plans were .ready.' •■ The Treasurer's salary was fixed at £8 per annum. As the Commissioner of Taxes had not yet furnished the Board with the new Assessment Roll, the motion for striking the rate for the ourrent year had to be postponed. 1 Accounts amounting to £7l7a 9d were paused for payment; ' v '' The Colleotor reported that rates to the amount ot £5 la 7d had been collected since last meeting,
