THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
The Democratic Convention, "W (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) New York, June 28. At the Deraocratio Convention, in the first ballot Mr drover Cleveland was olected as the Party's nominee for the Presidentship, He securod 616 votes, Governor Hill 112, and Governor Boies 108. The Democratic platform describes the M'Kinley tariff as an atrocity, and demands a gold and silver standard formoney, Washington, June 24. Mr Stevenson has been nominated by the Democrats as Vice-President.
