The Weekly Market Report Marterion, June 25. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on the produce markets for the past week£sfollows;— : Wool.—We are pleased to notice from cablegrams published during i/oe week that the sales in London are passing off with great spirit. Compete tion,especially'on Continental account for superior wools.is exceedingly keen, and in the case tf superior orossbreds sales are reported ten percent above cloning fates of If "t Bales, We received the following cable from our London House on Wednesday last:-Since close of last sales greasy merino bupor and scoured merino super are- par to £d per lb higher. Greasy merino, medium and inferior,'and'scoured merino, medium and inferior, are par to £d per lb lower. • Coarse greasy crossbred, and scoured crossbred, and greasy.merino lambs (medium and inferior). are par to Jd per lb lower. Fine greasy'crossbred has advanced Jd to Id -per lb since dose of last series, Other descriptions unchanged, The total Quantity catalogued to date is 77,000 bales.: Up to date 75,000 bales have been sold; -
SHEEPdKiNS.—Supplies brought forward by oiir Wellington House during the week are larger than they have been for several weeks past. There is no material alteration in prices to kport. We would remind those intending to crutch that it is not necessary to do more than remove the wool from such portions as would bo fouled by drpppiugs; The ejstent to which this is carried on'sometimes is injudicious, instances having come, under our notice of removal of wool to out-, side of thigh, and quite one-third of distance along belly, ' ' Tallow and FAT-At. Wellington all consignments' reaching us meet with an excellent demand and are quickly snapped up at late quotations, viz.—interior; to - good 16s to 19s; rough fat 12s to 18s per owt. The London market is irregular, with no improvement in prices.
Hides—Prioes remain without alteration and the demand continues good.:-. . : . -.-•. Oats—ln. the' south very large quantities are changing bunds at prices showing an advance on. late rates. In Wellington buyers have uot responded to the southern Vance, consequently little business is passing, We quote Is lOd to 2b Id for good feed, ; Wheat-No alteration to report in prices,' tbe demand however, still continues regular. Chaff-We are selling consignments from the Wairarapa in Wellington market at £3 ss, ex trucks, sacks returnable. The demand at this figure is likely to oontinue, steady, .. ■■ Hemp—The enquiry mentioned in pur last has somewhat slackened onY buyers,having satisfied, immediate requirements, and .in:.consequence prices are somewhat easier, Advices received from London and America by-San Francisco mail are very discouraging, ar " prices realised for parcels disposed of are extremely
unsatisfactory. Frozen Meats—Onr London mahuger cables: Mutton market unchanged, Lamb is in demand, .but there is no alteration in prices since, our last cablegram. There is rather a better demand for New. Zealand beef. Forequarters are worth 2Jd, per,lb, quotations nominal; hindquarters, 3Jdperlb.
