Another Memorial.
The following memorial signed by about forty persons was filed in the Masterton P.M. Court to day:—To the Licensing Committee for tho District of Masterton Borough:—We, the undersigaed ratepayers or adult male and female residents within the Licensing District of Masterton Borough do hereby request that no certificate shall bo granted to enable a license to be issued in respect of the h ouse named Star Hotel within the said district for which n license is applied for by Edward. J, Searl, for the following reasons:— (1) That the quiet of tho place in which such premises are situated will be disturbed if a license is granted. (2) That the premises are in tho immediate vioinity of a place of publio worship, and in the vicinity of a public school. (3) that unlawful gaming has been suffered to be carried on in the pre. mises, (4) That the licensing thereof is not required in the neighborhood.
