M/y Met Report.

Masterton, Juno 18, The New Zealand..Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Company, Limited, report on the produce markets for the ' week as follows : Wool.—The third series of London \ Bales opened on the 14th inst. We ' yesterday received the following telegram from our London House: The ' sales opened this day at the level of last sales except for fine medium and greasy cross-bred, wbich are par told per lb. lower. The attendance of boih Home and Foreign buyers jb good and competition active. The total quantity available including wool held over from last sales is 446,000,68,000 of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct. The usual odd lots were disposed of in 4" .Wellington, and sold at full market rates. Sheepskins.—The supplies received at Wellington during the week have been smaller than usual, and insufficient for trade requirements, We quote green crossbreds 9s lOd to 4s Bd, country skins 4d to 5Jd per pound. It is not out of place here to draw the attention of butchers and farmers to the great want of attention shown to their skins after flaying, and to the indifferent manner in which they are flayed; it may he pointed out that cuts in the body of the pelt detract from the value from 6d upwards, and oxposuro which perishes the pelt, wil l of course render it completely valueless. Tallow and FAT.-The Home mar let still continues dull, although prices remain without alteration. The quantity arriving at Wellington k not exce?sive and thore is no difficulty iu quitting consignments at good value at late quotations. •HiDEB. r No alteration in prices, t which, however,, remain good.
