At a meeting of those interested ,in the liquor traffic this afternoon the following resolntion whs carried:—; " Tbat.thia meeting sympathises with the licenced, holders who have been depriyed pi their licenses (yithont.any sufficient cause or reason being assigned by: the Licensing Committee; that committees be appointed to con; suit with; the most prominent legal authorities to ascertain what steps can be' taken to remove the action of the Roslyo Committee'; 'thafa 'deputation be appointed to inlervjew.the members of the, Houbb of Representatives to bring these matters before them, and endeavour to induce them to exert themselves to get the Licensing Act amended and ' placed upon a moro just, definite and satisfactory footing." Mr Vincent \ Pyko was the mover of the resolutions. Reference was made to the hardship inflicted on some whose houses were closed, large suras, haying been expended at the instance of the former l committee. ■'-. _. \ June \V\ The Licencing Committee for Aiick land Butt, at an adjourned. meeting to-day, refused to renew the licenses for the Pacific Hotel in Queen street, and the Provincial UoHin Sboitland street, on the ground that those places are cot required. ;''
