A QUEER CASE.
Charge Against a Gonstahle, (By Telegraph,—Press Association-) Cdrisichoboh, June 13. '■ At the Resident Magistrate's Court this, morning, Wm.. Christie was charged with a breach of the Police Regulations, in having been guilty of misconduct as & constable, by entering the Golden fleece Hotel while in uniform, and drinking liquor therein, From the evidence' it appeared that at about 4,20 a.m. Christie reported that he. had arrested men for drunkenness, One of them, M'Lelland, was out on bail 'and started to make enquiries as to why hawaslookea'u,;. complainedto the Inspector, and stated thai he, Christie, ant) another man bad been drinking together, Christie denied. fbat : 'be bud Wen in the hotel.with fit'Lelland/and' the other witnesses could not'idenlify him!' Mr Seethuni said M'Jjellnnd'6 evidence was,riiost open tofluestinu, as he appeared to have been 1 very drunk,'' while 'tlie constiiblo could not be ideniificd'i The case was dismissed,,
