Featherstok, Monday, There wna a marked difference in,

(he attendance at St, John's (English) on Sunday evening. Arch« /«P>deacon Maclean is a general favourite, and appears earnest in his work. He is making great efforts to start a Sun' day School in connection with tho English Church. The new organist (Mrs Maclean) officiated for the first time in St. John's Church last evening. Miss Payne, who has ltd the choir and played the organ in tho Church for years, having resigned her position &b teacher in (lie Stale school, has left to join the happy state, Miss Payne wus a great favorite, and we all wish her joy. Mr F, H. Fraser, District Secretary, opened in Featheiston on Saturday night a Rechabite Lodge, Ten candidates were preseuted for initiation and were duly initiated by Bro. Fraser and three visiting Brethren from Carterton. The Lodge is to be called the Star of Fealberston, Tent No. 5. The officers elected were Bro. J. Neilsen, C.R.Bro, J. Jellyman, D.R, Bro. J, Hutt, Sec, Bro. H.j Willis, Treae:, Bro. H, Adams, 0.5.,

Bro. W. Paak, 8.5., Bro, Jep Jensen!

Levite. A vote of thanks was (tendered to Bro. Fraser and the three 4HB3rethren from Carterton for their assistance. The meeting was concluded by the C.R. with the " closing ode." During the evening some lady friends kindly supplied refreshments and were duly thanked,
