Extension oj the Trade.

At the quarterly meeting of tlio Wellington Chamber of Commerce yesterday, the following resolutions were passed unanimously(l) ''That in view of the slow ptogress mads in the dairy trade of New Zealand, us contrasted with other colonies, and the great advantages which the colony possesses as a grazing country, and the enormous openings which exist in England for the sale ot butter and cheese, this Chamber is of opinion that the Government should maku strenuous efforts to encourage the industry, and would be justified in expending considerable sums of money with this object."
