LAND BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Wel-
lington Land Board was held yesterday, there being present—Messrs J. H. Bftkai- (Commissioner), W. A. FiUherbert, W, W. McCardle, A, W. Hogg, T. W. Fisher. Applications to obtain titles were approved in the following casesJ.Lanko, Makuri; W. P. Foreman, Mukuri; S. Avery, Mangahao; J. Miller, Mangahao; J. J. Cody, Mangahao; H, Croud, Mangahao ; W. E. Barnett, Mangahao; E. Qoodban, Mangaone. It was resolved to grant Mr C. H, Hamilton permission to reside on the adjoining land to his section 6, block 16, Mangahao, and approve his application to be allowed to obtain the title to the same. The following applications to transfer were approved T. Harper to Q, G. Harper, Maungakaretn; . W, F, Howlett to L. M. Monckton, wlangahao; Z, W, Hall to A, Sandel, Mangahao j R, A. M'Keneie to F, King, Mangahao; C. W. Roberts lo J. Stokes, Mangahao j M. A. Grant to J. M'Quilken, Mangahao ; J, Quarterman to M. A. Quarterman, Mangahao; W. J. and P. J, Annaboldi, to Q, A. Lambert, Mangaone; J. Barnes to J. Arcus, Levin Special Settlement, Mr E, B. Brown appeared on behalf of Mr F, T. Homer, and applied for permission to transfer a section abMakuri to Mr W. Freeman The Board resolved to approve the application, provided the conditions of the Act have been complied with. It was resolved to issue a new license to Mr A, Cooper for section 17, block 10, Mangahao, on payment of 10s 6d, if he makes a declaration that he has lost the original. Mr H. Mackay's application for section 12, blocks 1 and 4, Kaiwbata, was approved. An application by Mrs A, Burling for 1880 acres of laud iu the South Puketoi Block was approved, It was resolved to offer ihe Makotuku sjjownship reserve tor sale as soon as possible,' It was resolved not to rescind the cancellation of Mr F, G. Moore's section 4, block 18, Makuri, but to weight tho section with the estimated value of the improvements. The reconsideration of Mr F. Baundera' section 2, block 1, Puketoi, was allowed to stand over until next moeting, Mr Trewby appeared bete the Board in reference lo the alleged timber cutting on Crown lands at Makuri by Mr Sinclair. Left in tho hands of the Commissioner to deal with after a report has been recoived from tho Ranger,
