The weather during the past fortnight naa been oxlremely boisterous in Eke> tahuna. Heavy showers, accompanied by a cold aoath-feaat wind, continued the whole time. On Saturday afternoon the storm reached its height, when a heavy rain Bet in with a high wind, continuing without intermißsiou till Sunday alternoon. So far no serious damage has been reported, although thecreekß around ; tho diatrioc are all in high flood. The special meeting held at Carterton by the Salvation Array last night was a great success. About three hundred persons sat down to the tea whioh had been provided by the officers and friends of the Army. A contingent of soldiers and the Brass Band were present from Masterton, which considerably enlivened the proceedings. A mass meeting was held in the public hall at night, when about a dozen soldiers were sworn in beneath the colours presented by Major Robinson.
