OimisTCHUßcn, May 10. John Pearson, sailmaker of the i barque Howden, was fined tho minii mum sum ol'£2o for taking ashore an imported dog not quarantined. He : had been ordered by the captain not to let the dog ashore. Mr Cowan, 1 solicitor, suggested that the defendant | might apply to the Government for a reduction of the fine. The Bench concurred in the suggestion,
