THE association has been formed for tho purpose of acquiring the old established and successful General Business of Messrs M. Caselbcrg. & Co., at Masterton and Greytown, and Messrs Joseph Nathan & Co.V Retail Business at Tinui, in tho. The profits ol the Association after payment ot expenses will belong to, and be distributed amongst the shareholders. It iB at present proposed after payment to shareholders of a dividend of 7 per cent npon amount of paid up capital to divide part of llic balanco of Ihe profits amongst the shareholders, according to the amount of business done by each, and a bonus to employees, and to carry part to a Reserve Fund for the equalisation of dividends, and for the distinct object of starting or investing in such local industries in the district, as will prove conducive to the welfare'of the shareholders, employ labour, and promote the wealth ami population of the district. The Association will • wherever sufficient inducement is offered by settlers and others, and subject to the consent of tho shareholders, endeavour to ally itself, o amalgamate, with similar institutions, and thus by sharing the cost of management and conduct ot business, reduce expenses and enlarge its sphere of usefulness, This-is far from being a speculative concern, Tho businesses of the vendorß have been carried on siicocssfully for the last twenty-five years; and the promoters have such confidence in the future of the Association that they are prepared, so long as Mr Caselbcrgis allowed a controlling voice in the management of the concern as hereto' fore, to guarantee a dividend of iiot less than C per cent for the next five years, It should be plainly understood that tho promoters do not desire now, nor in the luture, to take out their capital, but to carry on the business on the now lines with Mr Caselberg at the head of affairs, assisted by all the present staff, many of whom have keen known to you for the last fifteen years. Disinterested experts will be employed to certify that Btocks have been taken at nbso luto cost, and all bad or old Block has been reduced to the market value or taken away altogether. Application for shares should be made upon the accompanying form, and forwarded to the Bsnkeis o the Association, together with the amount payable on application. If no allotment is madn the deposit will be returned without deduction, and where the number of shares allotted is less than the number applied for, surplus will be'eredited in reduction of the amount payable on allotment, A form of Application for Shares is annexed, and a copy ot the memorandum of Association will be found endorsed on iaprajpactua.
