The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
The Treasurer reported a credit balance of il7l lis lOd, PUBLIC DRINKING FOUNTAIN. The plan of the proposed ,publio drinking fountain was laid on the table,
Air (x. W. .Woodroffe, who was present, said he came before them a second limo.to lay. before them a plan \ graciously'-'prepared ! by., Mr: Natus6h£.' Ho had to report tliat hb had collected £l7 17a G<!,- and- Mr Nutueeh £5. Ho now asked that the Trust would co-operate and mtribiite th& -balance of the amount required. The fountain would be under the supervision, of the police an(| the Borough Council, and it would bo a great boon, tie trusted the money required would be "ranted by the Trust. The Chairman did not think the collection of £22 showed'a great desire on the part of tko Borough to haw the fountain. Mr Natusch, in reply to a questicM?' from the.Chairman, stated that approximate cost of the fountain would bo £SO or £55.
Mrßenall thought that as the laud had been vested in the Borougli Council that body should contribute towards the cost of erecting the fountain.
Thc'Chairman moved that.the sum' ot £2O be granted townrds the erection of a drinking fountain, provided the balance required is subscribed. Mr Perry seconded,- -Curried, - LEAYE O? ABSENCE. Leave of absence for two months was granted to Mr H. E. Eton,, who lina gone on a trip to the hot springs,
HOOFING BUILDINGS WITH IBON. The solicitor to the Trust wrote stating that the by-law of the Borough Council requiring buildings to .be roofed with iron was defective,; The timowheuthe by-law could be enforced had expired, Supposing the by-law could beeuforced the Trustees were responsible and not their tenants, Mr Renal] stated that he had al« ways beeenof the opinion that the by-law was ultra vires. ' M } Mr Ferry : I have already covereo my buildings with iron, Mr Renall: That's your fault, finanoe, - The application of Mr Feist for the payment of the £2OO due' to the estate of the late Mrs MoKenzie was considered. On the motion of the Chairman it 'was decided that the £2OO bo paid, and that tho (Jhainnan and Secretary arrange for a temporary overdraft.
ANNUAL MEETING, . • Tho animal meeting was fixed to be held in the Temperance Hall at 7.30 o'clock on Monday, the 10th inst;
ARRKARS. Tho Secretary was instructed to tender the requisite noiioo to certain tenants who are in arrears, The meeting then adjourned.
