Congratulatory Correspondence, Wo hnvo been requested to publish tho following correspondence which has recently taken place between Mr T, W. Shiite, of Maaterton, and Sir George Grey ; Masterton, 20th April, 1892, To tho Right Honorable Sir George Grey, K.C.8., Hon. Sir,—l bavo recently learnt with much pleasure that God dub spared your valuable life and that you haveattaincd the age of eighty years. I beg most sinceroly to congratulate you that His preserving care has been so lone, accorded you, and my hope is that He may still, to the end of your life on earth, preserve and protect you. I trust that Sir George will be pleased to excuse the freedom I .am making in thus addressing him, and believe me when I say that I ara pleased to know that you have beon so blessed and kept under the hand of the Almighty these many years, That he may support and strengthen you always is the prayer, hon, sir, of ' your most obedient servant,' Thomas Wilmam Shote, P.S.—I might inform you that I completed my 78th year in January last, and that I have been in the Colony since the year 1841, I was about twenty-eight years inTaranaki, and the rest in this district (Masterton).
