SEVERE WHIRLWIND.
Houses Wrecked and Trees Uprooted.
[by telegraph.—prebs association.] Auckland, April 28. A correspondent writing from Aitti* taki, Heavy group, slates that on the morning of 17th February a severe whirlwind struck a vessel, doing a lot of damage, It lasted only about five minutes, and took a straight line through tho island, leaving a clear track such as a survoyorwould make, about fifty or sixty feet wide, Houses were blown down, roofs uplifted, and trees uprooted.
