PAHIATUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) i Pahiatoa, Wednesday. A Masonic ceremony of considerable interest wbb euaoted here last week, being the conseoration of a Mssonio Hall for the Craft. A largo number of visitors was in attendance, the consecrating officer being Bio, H. Thomson, the Grand .Master of tho New Zealand Constitution, assisted by Bro. Ronaldsori, Grand Secretary. The ceremony was choral throughout, Bro. H. H. Godfrey.presiding at the organ, A banquet was afterwards partaken of, and after the usual loyal and Masonic toasts the function concluded. The weather throughout the koli* days has been anything but good. Still the Methodists, both here and at Mangatainoka, held their annual picnics on Good Friday. On Easter Monday the Junior Athletic Club held their sports. Competition was keen and the running good. The Junior Club has done muoh to pro* mote a healthy athletio nvalry amongst tlie boys, and everyone here will wißli it success. . Mr Farrell's boarding bouse at Makakahi has been let to Mr W. Bowden, of Woodville, who is now in possession, Mr Bowden was . last year captain of the Woodville foot* ball team, so the local kipkists will view his settlement here with satisfaction. The Most Rev. the Primate visits us on Saturday and Sunday next, and on the evening of the latter day he will hold a confirmation service, Mr George Innes the popular manager of the Bank of New Zealand here was on Saturday united in matrimony to Miss Muriel Syms. Miss Syms iB a daughter of Mr W. Syms, obemist, of Woodville. The nuptial knot was tied by the Rev. R. Stewart at the residence of the bride's parents. As both bride and bridegroom are well known in this district they will have the congratulations of numerous friends.
