THEATRE ROYAL.

Hastorton FootM OluVs Ooaoert. A concert in aid of the touring fund of the Masterton Football Club was hold in the Theatre Royal last evening, The audience, although not large, was very appreciative, the programme presented being a good one. The opening number was an overture by the orchestra, which was a musical treat, Then followed a song by Mr 0. Clifford entitled " Sweethearts," which was well received, Mr Jackson scored a great success with his song," Home Boys Home," and in response to a repeated the last verse, Mrs Miiller came next, and was loudly applauded for her very pretty song. A violin solo by Mr fcjtowell was played with great precision, and produced a good effect, The part.song entitled, "The Red Cross Knight," which took the form of a double quartette, was well rendered, the vocalists being Mrs Miiller, Misses Williams and Perry, and Messrs Boagie, Aitken, Whitt, Bray and Dougall, Mrs Anketell gave a very pretty selection on the piano, for which she received wellmerited applause. The gem of the evening, however, was the duet by Messrs Campbell and Clifford, " Larboard Watch," which was rendered in capital style and enthusiastically encored. The first part of tho pro* gramme was brought to a close with the favourite song " Eomany Lass," by Mr Bray, whose h'no bass voice was hoard to great advantage. Afler an interval of a few minutes Jerrold's farce" Obliging my landlady" was produced by Mr C. H, Campbell, who nourtrayed in a most amusing manner the happiness attending married life. The entertainment was brought) to a close with the oomed.ietta "One of you must marry," tho eccentricities of two bachelors creating no end oi fun, The respective characters which were well sustained throughout, were taken hy Messrs Fownall and Gindors and the Misses Ockenden and Bosa Beaufort.
