CORONER'S INQUEST.
ThoLatoGeralJ Sandburg. An inquest touching the death of Gerald Sandberg, was held before Mr H.Aulin,J,P. at Eketaliunayesterday morning. The following jury were swornF. D. Pelling (foreman), H.. Johnston, Swen Neilson, W, J. Hodges, Alf Foden, and A. Downswell. Miss G. Anderson deposed to going to call the deceased to breakfast as he was late, She found him in his whare in bed, and as she thought asleep, She shook him, but he did not move. It was about 9.30 o'clock, He used to board at witness', house, and sleep in Neil Aulen's whare. ■ Mrs Anderson, sworn, said she last saw deceased alive about 5 p.m. on the sth.. He said he was not well and that he did not think he would live long. He asked witness if Bhe would get Jiim a little brandy and water, pretended not to hear. He then asked her daughter for vinegar and water, which she gave him, He atterwards said he would go home. He was not strong, and had been very delicate since he left the hospital. He complained of his chest, and said he would soon die, He said he would like to see a doctor. | ' Neils Aulin, sworn, said he knew 1 the deceased for about seven years. He had lived with.him for about two ' and a half years Lefore going to the j Masterton Hospital, Since returniug from the hospital, he had lived by charity, He had no enemies, and 1 was a favourite amongst all, ; Constable Eoche deposed to going ' to Sandberg's whare and finding the deceased in bed dead with bis clothes 1 on. He had known,him for about four years and duri.ig the last month ' he had been receiving charitable aid, s The jury returned a verdict of death 1 from natural causes. 3 .
