' [To The Editor,] Sir,—ln perusing the half-yearly report of the Maaterton Blacksmith ; and . Wheelwright Company, I could hot help thinking! that from the way in- which it was published those. : interested would naturally infer prim facie that the financial position of the company m better than it really .is. Now although 1 wish the company every success in their vetftc"* and there is no doubt it time prove a profitable investment to the shareholders, care should be taken to submit a balanceishcet in which the position of thd company is clearly and concisely set fcjrth. The gentleman w|io op posed; the adoption " of the balanced eet, on the ground? tie;statpd, has incurred the indebted* nesß fellow shareholders. I'he directors have uo doubt done their beßt - to'push by putting a prosperous.fjtpe.on' the whole concern,■ and paying'^'dividend-at the end of he firßt year, but the major ity of the v: '
