FIRE BRIGADE

■ • A meeting of the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade was held last evening, when the usual rontine business was gone through, It was. deoided to let the upstairs room ot the Fire Brigade Station for meetings of the Cycling Club, and the Fire Brigade Football Gymnasium, The following officers were elooted for the ensuing year;— Captain, J. Maguire (re-eleoted); First Lieut,, W. Haigh (re-elected); Second EKt,, rf. Duff; Branchnu'n (seniors), ; G. Humphries and Wm, Hodman; (juniors), T, Fisher and Jas. Braggins; Treasurer, Jas, Baillie (re« elected; Secretary, J. L. Roes (reelected). , A Committee of thirty-one gentle* men (non-members) was chosen to arrange for a series of concerts during the coming season, in aid of the funds of the Brigade, the members to do as much as possible in assisting. A Committee of eight firemen was appointed to look after the rooms of the Brigade Station in place of the custodian (resigned). The Seoretary briefly reportod tho proceedings at the Conference in Chriatohurch. Special votes of thanks were ao« corded Mr D, Cameron for the use of coats at the demonstration, also to the Carterton Brigade for the use of helmets,
