HASTWELL.
(From, an Occasional oWitpondent.) Hastweu,, Tuesday. I read in your issue of the 24£iMt, i that you experienced a black f*t in ' Mastertoa. Here it has been as white in the morning as if a shower of snow had fallen, and through the day the' sun is scotching hot. ' Our settlers are busy grass seed i sowing, They have, generally speak-j ]*Dg, badja good burn. At last there has been a store! erected here, of which Mr J, P, Hansen is proprietor, He seems to 'do -a' thoroughly good business. ' i The bible class is still carried oh, but it is not as well patronised as could beexpeoted, A Quadrille Assembly has started here, conducted under management' ot Mr Ole Andersen, who also plays tho violin with great success. The young people from all, comers gather for a couple of hours' enjoyment every Saturday night. : It is expected' that a Bating Olilbl will be storied fll&ly, as tiers are horses in training at present efehv, If so, I'll hope for the future that | the trainers will cease training on the public road when children go to and return from school. If not, ic wjuld be advisable for parents to deal tith the matter.. ■ I
