A STREET ROW.
& OonataMe Jumped on. A disturbance of a rather serious nature occurred in Lome Street, off Tory street, Wellington, on Saturday night or rather early on Sunday-morning, About 12.80 aim Constable Moore, who waß on duty in the locality, heard screaming going on in a house in Lome street, and on proceeding thither found two men and two women drank and quarrelling. He went to arrest the most disorderly of the females, and immediately they all set upon him, knocked him down, kicked him and jumped upon him, tore hia coat to pieces and damaged hi 3 shako. They got away, and Constable Moore, jumping into a passing cab, wont in search of assistance, He shortly afterwards returned with Constables Hattie and o'Beilley,'and one of the women named Mary Carson, and Robert Grono and William Clements were arrested by them and taken to the lookup, The other woman got away. Carson is charged with being drunk and disorderly, and the men with a similar offence and also with obstructing the constable in the exeoution of his duty, and with damaging his coat and shako. It is probable that they will also he charged with assaulting the Constable.— Times.
