[Per Pros 3 Association.] A Dospotato Criminal Ashburton, March 25. A young inan'named Benty Percy Fisher, alia Harry Percy Fisher, alias Honry Smith, Hairy Gilbert, alias A. F, Stewart, at present representing himself as an insurance agent, was arrested on Wednesday night at Clierlsey on a charge of forging and uttering a cheque for £5 10s to a storekeeper at Ashmirton. He remained at the hotel in custody all night, and tho following morning early made a sudden dash and escaped tho constab'e, and, being a fast runner, is still at large. ; The country is being scoured. It is said that (ho offender is well known ,as' a. dangerous criminal, who escaped from the labour g.mg in Dunedin harbour by swimming, He also escaped from custody with the handcuffs on hy jumping off a train going at the rate of twenty miles an hour,
