WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB.
Special General Meeting. A special general meeting of the Wairarapa Hunt (Jlub was held at. Carterton on Saturday to take into consideration ibe advisableness or otherwise of making a charge at the gates at the foithcoming steeplechase meeting to be held by the Club. There was a large attendance of members, and the Master, Mr W, E. Bidwill, presided. The Chairman stated that the meeting had been called in response to a requisition from members, and he asked those who bad requested the meeting to state their views, MrM'Shane, who opposed the free admission of the public, moved "That the gates be not thrown open and that a member and two ladies be admitted' to all privileges free, 1 ' Mr A, 6. Pilmer Beconded tbo motion pro forma. After considerable discussion the motion was put and carried, several' amendments having been negatived. It was resolved that a Hunt Club ball be held during the season, Several other n.atters of minor importance, including a decision that no collection shall be made after hunts, were arranged, and. the meeting adjourned with the usual compliment to the Chairman.
