For some time past a man named Frank Hayres, who arrived' in 'Auokland some months ago fiouS'. San Franoisco by the s,s. Monowai, and who travelled about wiih a Yankee patent' cement, has been living by himself in a house in A nglesea street. Ho was last seen alive on the ,B'rd March. On the 14th;-March the neighbours, who had not seen him about, detected an. ill-odour about the dwelling, and infocired the Police at the Ponsonoy Police Station, Constables Foreman and Fjnnerty went to the house, and satisfying themselves that there was something wrong, buret in Ihe door.
