Chhbtohuch, March 19. The Fire Brigades' Demonstration m concluded at 7 to-night, Kain fell all day. Hoso and Ladder, five men—Spit, Jl 2-5660, 1 ; Wellington, 48 8-sseo f'Palmeraton North, 49seo, 3. Ambulanco, six men—Napier, 1; Ohnstchurch City) 2; New Ply* mouth, 8. These were the only competitors. Life-saving apparatus, for five men —Christchuroh City, 1; Giaborne, 2. Thess wore the only competitors. ' Officers' Race—lso yards handicap—Eoreman Shennon, Hokitika (2yds), 1 ; Foreman Straohan, limaru. (6ydß), 2; Foreman Oli-, . phant, Palmereton North (scr), 8. Time, 16 8-5 sees. Firemenß' Race, 220 yards-Fire-man Stevens, Napier (oyds), 1; Fireman Harrison, Timaru, (7ydg), 2; Brancbman Fraser, Gbristchwoh City, (8yd0), 3. Time, SO l-ssec. -
Two men Hose and Hydrant— Gisborne, 25 4-Ciej, 1; Wellington, 25aeo, 2; New Plymouth, 25 4-ssec, 8. The Tug of War, North v South Islands was won by the South Island, Tho Ohristchuroh City Brigade won the oup presented by Wirthßros for the brigade ranking the most points jq the competition.
