Tho First Say's Shooting. [By Telegraph,] [Unites Pkess Assooiation.] ■ Teentham, Friday, The weather for the first day's shooting was favorable. The first shot was fired by Mrs W. P,. Reeves, who registered a bull's eye. Firing was then commenced in the Wellington MATcn, At 500 yards a few of the men managed to register good scores. Reid, ofQueenstown, got 84 out of a possible 35, while Kruse, the prosent champion, was only one point behind him, Richards (Dunedin) and Kucben (Wellington) made 32, while Cameron (Tenui Rifle Club), Woollett (Dunedin), and Lieutenant Smith (Auckland Navals) followed with 81, At the 600 yds the principal scorers were—Dougall (Ohristchurch), 81; A. Balhnger (Wellington) and Griffiths (Blenheim), 80; Mr Tidswill (Featheraton Eiflo Club) and Randall (Pajmerston), 29; Oates (Greyioyvijj, Mcliit (Napier) and Bunting (Palmerston), 28, The highest totals for the two ranges are —Cameron (Tenui Rifle Club), 58; Bunting (Palmerston), Head (Auckland), Jackson (Wellington), Boss (Napier), Humphries (tfapier), 57; Harding (Blenheim), Evans (Christchurch), Okey (Taranaki), SG; McCarthy (Dunedin), Richardson (Dunedin), 55; A, Bullinger (Wellington), Rait (Wellington), Kirk (Wellington), Oates (Greytown), Woollet (Dunedin), Kruse (Wanganui), Eeid (Queenstown), Jones (Waikari, Dunedin), 51; Griffiths (Blenheim), Burns (Dunedin), Taylor (Auckland), Savwell 58.
