FIRE AT DREYERTON.

Yesterday afternoon between 12 and 1 o'clock while llr E, McKenzio was working in his garden •he sad-' '"*-' denly became aware that the roof of vV his dwelling house was on fire, and before he could reach the place the ■ ! whole building in a blaze, Messrs Palmer, H. M unto, H. Mimro junr, and another man oame to his assistance,'but the fire spread too rapidly to allow anything to bo saved with the exception of aJittle bedding. Mrs MoKenzie was in Masterton at the time. The house, which was a substantially built one, was insured in the National Office for £l4O and the furniture for p. The loss over' tho insurance is estimated at fully • • £IOO.
