The death is announced in Wellington of Mr John Uampboll, father of Messrs fiobort, Hugh and John Campbell, of this district, and one of the early settlors of Wellington. Mr Campbell was a native of Belfast, whore he was born in 1800, and was encaged in farming operations in Ireland until October, 1840, whmi he left for Hew Zealand in tho ship Lady Nucwit, which arrived here on 17th March, 1811. Ho was amonrst the earliest settlors at Karori, and continued to resido thero up to the time of nis death. Mr Campbell was twice married and leaves a family of two sons and one daut-htor by bis first wifo, and three sous by tho socond.
