Detato 1)7 tho Mnstoiton. Assembly of IhoEnights of Labour. An Important Resolution. At a full assombly of the .* Knights of Labour held at the Foresters' Hall, Masterton, last night, the Chinese question was discussed a at considerable length and the following resolution unanimously passed:—" That this Assembly views with alarm the influx of Chinese traders and Workers into (he Wiiiw. rapa, and that in iho interims of the working won of Now Zealand it considers it undesirable to encourage *F Chinese traders or workers ol any desciiption; and this Assembly would ask the assistance and cooperation of sis'or assemblies mid tho friends of labour generally in urging /' upon the Government the necessity of increasing the poll tax on all Chinese entering the Colony from .£lO to £100."
