ROAD BOARDS.

Akitoo Road Board A meeting of the Board was held on Thursday last. Present Messrs Handyshle, Foreman, Arm*, strong and Burling. The minutes ot'the previous meeting wero read and confirmed, The Treasurer reported a balance in the bank of £59 2a 2d. Correspondence was read.—From J. Hennessy, applying for progress payment on his contrast; from Mr W. Badger, re statutes of New Zealand, Tho Clerk was authorised to order Vols. 11l and IV of Badger's Statutes. Mr Armstrong was authorised to employ men to clear the Blips on Akiteo river road. It was resolved that application be made through the County Council to have the Mataikuna road, the Aohonga Valley lload, and the'Akiteo River Road legalised; also that tlie Minister of Lands be applied io for a subsidy towards opening the road through the Gorgo at Glencoe on the Aojiooga Valley road to oonneot with the road from Tiraumoa or Makuri to Wimbeldon iu Hawke's Bay, The Chairman gave notice to move at the next meeting of the Board that an alteration of the boundaries of their district be made as follows The southern bour.dary to commence on the beach at the mouth of the MataU knna River, and follow the river to its junction with the Pakoffai river, thence by the Pakowai River to Honey Creek, thence in a straight line to the north-east corner of section G7, Block VIII, Puketoi, thence by the northern boundary of section G8 to the present boundary of the district. The next meeting was fixed for Saturday, the 19th March. Oastlopolnt Sload A meeting of the above Board was held at Tenui on Saturday lust. Present Messrs J. The Treasurer reported an over-, draft of £OB Bs, A statement of liabilities of each Ward was read by the Clerk. Inward correspondence was read as follows:—From Mrs Grant, re fencing road through her property; from Colonial Treasurer, advising the ap< plication for a loan of £2OOO be renewed after the 81st March instant; from Messrs Beethara l'e repairs lo road to their property at Westmero,— lielt in the hands of the Warden. There was only one tender for the bridge over tlie creek at Ahisruhi, and as tlijs tendep was moro than the Engineer's estimate it was resolved that the matter be left in the hunds of the Wardens for No. 2 Ward. Several acoounis were passed for payment, Messrs Dorset, Grace, Braithwaite, Dollar, and tho Chairman were ap pointed a committee to consider the specifications for the new works to be undertaken at Ahiaruhi, and to call for fresh tenders if necessary. Some new works were authorised to be done, Mr Monftjlmp (ffltid pontvaotor) was requested to" see to tho bridge on the main road at the junction of Waihakeke road. The meeting then terminated,
