DEATH FROM BLOOD POISONING.
A supposed sting from a Eeo. A death under somewhat singular circumstances occurred in Masterton last night. On Sunday week a three-' year-old son of Mr Kobert Crawford, blacksmith, complained of pains in ! the face, and on Monday morning his head was considerably swollen. Dr. Beard, who was called in, discovered strong symptons of blood poisoning, and concluded that (the ohild had"" been stung by ' some ' insect, Tho doctor did everything in his power |to alleviate thepains of the little sufferer, : but the limbs of tha child swjjy to an abnormal size, and on Thursday he became unconscious, All hopes for his recovery were then given up, and • he passed away at an early hour on Sunday evening, -It is thought that the child was stung in the,eye with a bee, as he had been soon playing with these insects some days before.
