A Maori Wedding.
The wedding at Papawai, Greytown, of Fanny Eopehu, of Castle • point, and Erucia Kingi, of Papawai, took place yesterday. The wedding ceremony was performed by the Kev, W. Rowse at 11,80 a.m. Invitations to a dinner and dance had been sent to both Europeans and Natives all over die Wairarapa. Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, there were about one hundred Euro* peans sitting down lo the one o'clock dinner. A splendid spread of every available eatable wns provided, and heartily partaken of, There were present Europeans of both sexes from Gladstone, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston, Martinborough, and other places, and Natives from all parts,
A dance was held in the evening which was enjoyed immensely, crowds of people, both Europeans and Natives, being in attendance. The dinner and dance were hold in the old Papawai Bchoolhouse.
