EARTHQUAKE.
[By Telegraph.—Press Association] Napier, Tuesday. A prolonged shook of earthquake was felt at 4.4Q a.m., accompanied by ' a loud rumble, It was the shook experienced for some time. .Gisbobnb,. Tuesday. A severe earthquake shock, lasting eight seconds, the direotion being east to west, was experienced here at 5,86 this morning. Wellington, Tuesday. The earthquake shock reported from Gisborne and Napier was felt here, but the movement wa3 very slight.
