N.Z. FROZEN MEAT.

Tho Romovftl of Projuciioo. The following is an extract from ' n letter addrossed by Colonel Gorton, from England, to the Advocate " I have said nothing about the frozen meat, suck aa important item in New Zealand's welfare, The sale is rapidly spreading throughout England, amidst groat difficulties. The farmers naturally have a great prejudice against it because it has undoubtedly brought down the prico of their meat, and, a curious thing, the servants in tho households vory often object to eat it, though their masters liko it. That it in good, there is no doubt about it. We lived on it in the lonio and it was excellent, I enjoyed the oold beef at lunch eTery day more than anything, and the mutton cannot bo beaten. 1 am convinced that many a man at home eats it under the itupressiun that he is eating English mutton, The prejudice, I believe, however, is getting le3a. Only the other day a gentleman's coachman, who was driving me (he happened to be living at his bouse finding himself), said he had a delicious dinner last Sunday off a leg of New Zealand frozen mutton, and that he liked it better than the English mutton; that there was a shop in Abingdon, within a few miles of him, and he generally got a ■ joint every week; and that people are beginning to appreciate it, I have no fear as to the future of tbid trade, or of New Zealand, if we only have a decont Government."
