Cubisichuech, February 5. The New Zealand Amateur Ath» letio and Cycling championship com>> menced to-day at Lancaster-Park. Rain fell heavily the previous night, and the spprts were postponed till 8 p.m. accordingly, A heavy shower fell during the afternoon, and the traok was slow in consequence. The attendance was, large, .considering all things, 2500 people being present. The form was considerably upßet by the state of the traok. The following are the results:—
