Ekotahuna OasesJudgment for tio Befondants. , A special flitting of the R,M. Court, was held at Eketahuna yesterday for the hearing of tho .Picturesque Atlaa cases. The Bench was composed of .Colonel Roberts, R.M;,.and Messrs F. Yon Ke;lin, J, Gardiner,; and Hi.jjj Aulin, J.'bP, The. first'- case' lieard( was onein which Mr A. Selby.was sued by Messrs Bowerman Bros, for the Bum ot £3los for fourteen numbets of the Atlas. j ■ ; Mr Pownall appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr Beard for the defendant. The defendant, on onth, denied having signed the contract .form produced, Mr Pownallihen applied for a nonsuit-. Mr Beard opposed the granting of tfi'e application, and said ha intended to apply lor judgment to be entered for the defendant. These proceedings had been carried on for some montls r by Messrs Bowerman Bros, in the '■ Wairarapa, and it was about time a finality waa arrived at, ' Judgment should be given for the defendant, in- , stead of a nonsuit as applied for by the plaintiffs. The Bench, after consideration, intimated that it would not enter a nonsuit, but would give jodgmont for the defendant. -y Mr Pownall stated 'that as he Jwd not closed his case judgment not be given for the defendant.. •" The .Benclv then called upon Mr Pownall to close his case, but. as he declined, to do so judgment \yaa given for the defendant, with £l4s coat, The ease Bowetman Bros, v, Parsons was next called on, but as Mr Pownall intimated that he declined to appear, the case was struck .out on the defendant repudiating the claim, 21s oosts being allowed defendant's counsel.

Mr Pownall then stated that he would withdraw the remaining cases'. Ho could see it was no use proceeding with the Bench as at present constituted.

The cases against Koester and Harding, F. Bright, F, 0. Tumor, A. Anderson, J, Kelliher and D. E, Toohill were thereupon withdrawn upon the plaintiffs paying costs amounting in the aggregate to £9loa.
