RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of delegates of the Hide Clubs in the Wairarapa district was held last evening to meat the Shooting Committee of the Mnstwton Ride Volunloors with a view of forming a Wairarapa Rifle Association. Lieut. Malcolm was in tho chair. It was proposed l»y Capt. Pownall, and secouded by Mr Whatman, that all the Rille Ulubs in tho district, looether with the Masterlon Rill* Volunteers, form a Wairarapa Rifle Association, and that, each Club or Corps pay U annually towards the Association.—Carried. Lieut. Malcolm was elected Secretary pro tern. It was proposed by Capt. Pownall and seconded by Mr Whatman, that, one delegate bo sent from each Club or Corps to form a General Comuiitlco to the Association.-Carried, It was proposed by Yol. Perry and seconded by Mr Izard, that the first nuetingof the Wairarapa Association bo held on the 17th March, 1892. An amendment was pioposed by Sfrgt. Ben Hey and seconded by MiMartin that .tho W.R.A. hold their meeting before the N.Z.R.A. Meeting. The amendment ffas put and lost. The original motion was then nut and carried, ' -Proposed by Capt, Pownall and seconded by Mr Izard, that either the Martini Henri Rifle or Hie Snider Rifle be used at tho meeting, and ammunition be obtained on the ground.—Carried. The first General Committee meeting was fixed for that day week, Wednesday, the 3rd of February, 1892, for the purposo of arranging a programme and deciding entrance fees, (fee, at Capt. Pownall's olHco at 8 o'clock.
