MASTERTON.-THURSDAY. (Before Colonel Roberts, R.M.) OBSTRUCTING THE PoMCK. A Maori named f uhara To Tsu was charged with obstructing the police in the execution of their '\ duty. The defendant, who was represented, by Mr Pownall, pleaded not guilty, Constable O'Loary deposed that vhe arrested a Native named Walker for drupkennp and the defendant clung tp him and would not let him go. Constable jjawler afterwards put in an appearance aud with his assist' ance the two were separated. Constable Lawlor gave corroborative evidence. The defendant Btated that he was standing on the .verandah of (be Empire Hotel, when Walker rushed up, and caught hold of him and he could not extricate himself. Ho was not holding Walker, John Thompson and John Gardner deposed that they saw Walker take bold of the accused and the accused endeavoured to free himself. The Benoh dismissed the information.
