Tho sports held on Anniversary Day in connection with the Greytown Fire Brigade were highly successful, The results were as follows: Maiden Bace.—Hambro 1, Tuokey 2, Stewart 3. Hurdle Bace.—W. Arnott (scr) 1, S. King (9yds) 2, J. Harris (7yds) 8. Engine Competition—one man.— ,J. Quinril, W. Haigh 2, (both of Greytown). Fire Brigrde Handicap—lst event. -Tuckey (25yds) 1, Francis (Byds) 2, W. Arnott (sor) 8. Boy'B Race.—Joe 1, D, M'Master 2. . Engine competition-two men.— Haigh and Quin, representing Greytown, took the chief prize out of seven entries 1 • Fire Brigade Handicap—2nd event. -Tuckey 1, Arnott 2. Cumberland Wrestling, for heavy weights.—Ned Te Aro v Peter; the former won easily. Fire Brigade Handicap, third event, -Francis (15yds) 1, Arnott (sor) 2, Harris (3), Engine competition 5 men—First team, Haigh, Gray, Quin, Fergusson, andl)uff, (Greytown) 1. Time 86secs, the fastest on record 2nd team, Hobman, Mngaire (2), Fisher, and Amos, (Greytown) 2. Also competed, teams from Kuripuni and Masterton Brigades, Old Men's Race, overdOyears, 100 yards —D. P. Loasby 1, D. McMaster 2, Eraraiha 8. This was a capital race, and the winner was loudly cheered at the finish. Band and Firemen's Handicap, —Hobman, 6yds, 1 j G. Humphries, syds, 2; W.
