MEETING OF CREDITORS

Estate of Qeorgs TorasonJ.

A meeting of creditors iii the estate, of George Townsend, blacksmith, of the Taueru, was held in the old Courthouse, Masterton, this (Wednesday) morning, about half a dozen ereditors being present. The Official Assignee (Mr W. B. Ghennells) presided.

Mr. Bunny appeared for the Official Assignee, Mr Pownall for the bmk' rupt, and Mr Gawith for certain creditors.

I was ill a month, I got behind hand and could not get my book debts in to pay | Oreditors. who were pressing, My Credit got stopped to a largß extent, and finally on being summoned by a creditor, Mr Yallanoe seized my shop and stock under a security which he held, whioh left me no other resource but to file.

Examined by Mr Bunny,the debtor stated he owed some debts when lie went into business. Ho would not have Bled unless ho was pressed. Mr femith pressed him. He had o horse, trap and harness seized under bill of sale, or what he supposed to be a bill of sale. He owed Eiddlo £32, and the trap, horse and harness were worth about £2O, He had no other prpperty, He jiad a sub-tenant on h j jileaoehold'prqperty at'sahumingi, Tlio Value' of 'tliia was nothing.' 1 'He liad .Eq shut up s|}'op' in Mai'bh on account of illneps, His man was al?p bafi, 'He qiy'ed |[ibb]pwhite |27 fqr vyagep, liad bcijn give)] to Vallanco in February, 1890, Vallance had advanced him money and backed bills, He understood tho bailment was over tools.
