ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of tho Tarafc-ihi-Oarterton Boad Board was held on Saturday last, Present: Messrs E. W. I)orsett (in thechair), H. Braitbwaite, E. Morgan, G. W. Del* lar, A. Gallon, and W.B.Allen, The minutes of theprevious meeting wore read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £10217s 7d, and read a statement of receipts since last meeting. .A financial statement of each Ward was also read by the Olerk, outstanding Mies being reported to amount to &\s, COWSPONBENOE, From Mr Bkey, re fencing gravs! pit.—Loft in the handß of the War. den, . From Mr T. Price, ro road near the Dalefield station, stating that the road was being damaged through the water courses being blocked with water* cress, Tho Overseer reported that he had bad the Waiohine and Hurunuiorangi bridges screwed up, arid the planking repaired, Jfr Braitbwaite requested that tenders be cajjed, for about 5Q ohajns qf roar) formation and ditching, on Par» Road. Mr Monaghan asked permission to 'go on with metalling on the rutin
road,—The opinion of tho Overseer was that tho matter had better be le't't till the middle of February, It was'resolved that the Library Committee be informed that the Committee appointed by the County Coanoil and the Road Board afo in favour of their relinquishing the offices at present occupied by them.- Mr DorSett moved an amendment, that the matter he left over till after a public meeting of the ratepayers.- The motion was carried. Some Accounts were passed for pay ment, and the meoting terminated.
