The "*ner of Master Agnes announces in the advertising columos of this journal for the third year in succession that the son of Caesi vellaunus and Fair Agnes will stand this season at White's Line, Carterton, Wairarapa, at the fee of of sgs. Master Agnes' tabulated pedigree reads as under : His sue, C\ssivellaunus (who is now dead), only raced twice in England, and that was as a two year old when lie won both stakes he started for at Newmarket. In addition to Master Agneß, he has sired in this colony" Envious, Jealousy, Billy, Mobs Rose, Puritan and other good racers. Cassivellnunus' sire Caractacus won the Derby at Epsom in 1862, and his dam Campanile, is a daughter of the emperor of stallions, Stockwell. Fair Agnes, the dam of Master Agnes, is a daughter of the imported hay Middleton horse St Aubyn, and is out of Phoebe, tho maternal ancestress of so many good horses including Pinfire's dm, Queen of the South, ParaWhenua's dam, Countess, Maoa a dam, Raupo; Wolverine's dam, Tangi, aud Sinking Fund who ran a dead heat with Mata for the Dunedin Cup of 1870. Phoebe was a daughter of the King of Australian sires, Sir Hercules. Fair Agnes in addition to Mister Agnes, has thrown another good hurdle racer in Magnesia and a fairish sprinter in St Agnes, Rose A'Bonheur and her sons. Maroro, Chokebore, and Badßworth, were all abovo the average on %j Turf. As a two year old Master Agnes won the Spring Nursery Handicap at the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meeting and he followed this up by getting home in front of a field of five in the Two year old Handicap, but was disqualified on the ground of a cross. At the C.J.C.
