The first-class yacht race was won by White Wings, with j Mtirita 2, and Ripple 3. The finish , wastry close and exciting. Tbe Dunedin Amateur Boating Olub were ] most successful in the rowing events, 1 winning the Maiden Four Oared, 3 Junior Fair Oar, and JnDior and ' Senior Four Oared Inrigged Gig ' races. Palamountain won the Dingy Bace-afcd the Scullers' Bace. Arrest for Hurler. _ Auckland, December A man named John Kelly arrested on a charge of murder out of a drunken bf awl. He man named Maloney went to Queen's Hotel, but the landlord fused to supply them with liquor they were drunk. They w«re ontside, and it is stated that was a scuffle. Maloney fell on kerbstone and was taken to Hospital, where he died from sure of blood on the brain.
