EKETAHUNA SPORTS.
▲ Successful Gathering. The annual sports in connection with the Eketahuna Athletic Club were held in Mr James Jones' paddock on Boxing Day aud were very successful. About six hundred persons were on the field, including a large number of visitors from Palnatua, Musterton and elsewhere. There would probably have been a much larger gathering hud it not been that the weather was very threatening. The programme was got through with despatch by the energetic Secreary, Mr D. H. .Roberts, to whose efforts, with those of the Committee, the success of the gathering is largely due. The proceedings were diversified by Pearson's Brass Band, under Bandmaster H. Rees, which played a number of very pretty selections. Good order was maintained throughout the day by Constable Roache and an assistant. Good business was done by Mr Anderson at his publican's booth, and Mrs Hunter was equally successful with her refreshment booth. The fallowing are the results of the various events : Maiden Race. T.
