KIRKCALDIE & STAINS, IX SUBHITTISG THE ABOVE SPECIAL BONUS TERMS To the cituens and public of Wellington and country districts confess they have been precipitated somewhat by the fact that, being requested to tender for the supply of drapery to the Co-opjcrativk Farmers' Alliance at a discount off their marked prices, they >vere necessarily let to suggest sundry queries to the executive, which were not replied to ; therefore tendering could not be entertained, with this renult—as far as the Special Bonus is concerned—that all who favour Kirkcaldie and Stains with their sapport will participate in an immediate and assured bonus, as described above. In specially drawing attention to this liberal mode ol treating FROMIT CASH BCTKHS, Kirkcaldie and Stains have every confidence in leaving the MAGNITUDE OF THEIR STOCK, the VARIETT OF SELECTION, and THE PRICES to the discrimination of those who are intimately acquainted with the mode in which their business is conducted To the many counl.y settlers who are in daily communication with KIRKCALDIE and STAINS, and familiar with their shopping guide and PRICK LIST, it. is suggested that orders occompanicd with remittances of £1 and upwards will participate in the cooperative bonus terms. jivery attention will be given, as hitherto, to carry out in the stiictest sense whatever is undertaken. In conclusion KIRKCALDIE & STAINS are sanguine that their bonus terms will commend themselves favorably to the public, and lead to a corresponding increase in the .volume of trade, the above outline in their opinion, being as neai co-operation as can be attained withoui f:sk or liability to the participators of the bonus. KIRKCALDIE & STAINS Lambton Quay Wellington CARPET W A REHOUSE--St. George's Hall. TBIGGLESWOETH & BINNS, • •' PHOTOGRAPBERS 7, Willis'Street, Wellington. OPINIONS OF THE PRESS on our PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION. Wairarapa Daily, 3rd October, 1891: —" They have indeed, successfully negotiated the difficult task of combining first class work with astonishingly low prices in a mo3t aatitfaccory manner. It is utterly impotsiole to attempt & description of the wealth of artistic portraiture which surrounds a visitor to Messrs Wrigglesworth and Bines' studio. For originality in conception, taste in the selection of back i»rounds, end careful finish, each picture is a marvel, and one wonders whether photography has not row reached its highest per* fection, &c, &c. Evening Post, September 26th, 1891. —" The lighting appears to be almost, if net quite, perfection. The pictures under notice present the sitters in a perfectly natural manner. Messrs Wnge;!eswortfc & Bitins, judging fiom the recent pictures they have turned out, may be regarded as artists rather than mere photographers —iu face, the specimens

exhibited by Messis Wri?g!esworth and Bin us to-day would be considered creditable to any photographic artist in either London, Paris, or Vienna. The firm have certainly rofc only reduced their charges, but have at the suae time vastly improved their work." Art is the Bight Hand of Nature.— — S cliiller, PHOTOGRAPHY A FINE ART. Embodying Taste, Knowledge, and Experience. ')OKTEAITURE is its most popular _. form. The pleasurable resolve to have a likeness taken, frequently means a haphazard rush to any Photographer to the first, in fact, who comes. Dis satisfaction follows. Good results can be ensured only by selecting a qualified man— an expert who has made his profession a definite study. One of the Few m New Zealand who is a thoroughly trained photographer is Mr R. HERRMANN, Of Cuba Street, Wellington, he having graduated in photography at the Polytechnic Institute of Brunswick, Germany. His acknowleoged skill is 1 thus the result of five years speoi il study and twenty years practical experience. Mr Herrmann has therefore long passed the experimental st.;ge, and so uniformly regular is his work that he can confidently GUARANTEE A LIKENESS both lifelike and artistically perfect i The increasing patronage of the Cuba Street Gallery, whure not only is the cost the lowfst, but where the wokk is best, i 3 sufficient endorsement. Mr Herrmann's latest improvement is the introducton of his NEW INSf ANTANEOUS PROCESS whereby stiffness of posture is impossible, aa the sitter is not lendered bot.j nervous and uncomfortable by mechani> cal supports for the head, so commonly used by incompetent operators. Clear outlines are ensured and a moßt pleasing picture follows. This process is wonderfully successful with childre>. A BEAUTIFUL FINISH is also imparted by the matt-opal style of photography. In this department, Mr Herrmann excels,=i:id he is the only photographer in Wellington who can assure that remarkable softnes3 and beauty of finish *hich is essential to true! photography on opal. WAIRARAPA PEOPLE should make a point of visiting Mr Herrmann's Cuba Street Studio (opposite Te Aro House) when in' Wellington. They i will not only get eminently satisfactory photographs, but they will SAVE ' MONEY WHILE DOING 80.
